Wrapper's Delight

Seeing that it is the Christmas season I, and many others, have been caught up in the art of wrapping gifts to put under the tree for a festive colorful Christmas day. I have found that I seem to be fairly good at wrapping these gifts and adding a little bit of my own touch. Though my Mother and my awesome sister were the ones to originally teach me how to wrap, my sister said to me yesterday that I make my presents look very nice. I'm not sure If this is something to be proud of but so far I kind of feel that way. I guess even if it is a dorky thing to be good at I'll always have a job at one of the major retailer stores in the mall. All that to say, even though it's Christmas in two days, let me know if you need help wrapping... or rapping.

A Short Trip to Long Beach

After only a week of being home I took a trip with Chelcea and Mae Leah to visit Fiona at what is now home to her...Long Beach. This was the second in a series of planned trips to visit all of our friends from high school where they are now(the trip to Joshua being the first). We first stopped at ghetto Albertsons in Long Beach to get a few things for the stay at Fiona's. I can't believe thats wher she always goes for her groceries-it's quite the experience. If you ever stop in there say hi to Noah for me. The next day was full of shopping in the morning (where I picked up some sweet sunglasses) and an awesome picknick by a lighthouse. Sharing sangria(non-alcoholic) and cheap Islands food compliments of Fiona the Island Princess (or hostess), was the highlight of the whole trip. Of course I didn't leave without having a sweet jam session with Fiona playing all of our favorite Trevor Davis songs. To finish an already awesome trip we met up with our friend Bo, and his owners Tim and Natalie, to look at the amazing Christmas lights in Naples. Oh, Almost forgot we took pretty much the shortest ferris wheel ride ever, but it was still fun...and made for a sick picture afterwards. I can't wait for the next trip. JoshuWHATS HAPPENING

Home sweet home, for the next five months anyway. I am one of 56 students attending the Joshua Wilderness Institute at Hume Lake Christian Camps. This is a nine month discipleship program focusing on spiritual growth and building a foundation in ones faith for the rest of there lives. When I'm at Joshua the days seem to go by slow, packed full of things to keep me busy, but when I get to the end of the week and can't believe it's already over. The majority of my time is taken up in classes like Old Testament, Theology, and Inductive Bible Study. If that doesn't fill my time I am always reading books for the next book discussion or just for fun. Every weekend we are required to work a different job at Hume Lake Christian Camps. I have found myself in every job from dish washing to the media center and I always love doing it. Though I stay busy there are still times of the day where we are free to do as we please. Since part of the program is a fast from Movies, Television, and Music, we have to find other thing to keep us occupied. Many times i will sit and play guitar in my bathroom (the only quiet place-remember there are 56 students living together) occasionally having my roomate jam with me. I have also resorted to coloring, making up stupid games with other guys, a lot of card games, and just general goofing around and reinacting our favorite parts of movies. Of course i always spend time writing letters to friends. Now that I' m home for christmas it's nice to take a short break but I can't wait to get back and finish off an already awesome year.
