A Creature Feature

Today while I was at school scurrying in foot traffic through the halls something out of the ordinary caught my eye. It happened to be one of the largest grasshoppers I have ever seen in my life and he was dangerously lounging in the middle of the hall where an old adidas or grossly tall stiletto  could end his life in a second. Naturally I stopped to pick him up for examination and a ritualistic naming process before he was to be re-released in a safer home. After I did this though, I notice the people around me directing peculiar stares at me. At that moment I realized that maybe it is not so "natural" to stop mid-trot, in a college setting, at the age of 21, to pick up any old bug you see on the ground.
Though I would agree with my last statement I find this very sad. Since when does getting older mean one can no long find fascination in creation? I feel like what should have really happened in this situation was a rush of people surrounding me in wonder upon what could interest a man like me enough to make him stop dead in his tracks and pick it up.
Mark Bucanan said "The worst consequence of losing our imagination is that we no longer see the Christward way of life as an adventure. " I may have been a little too adventurous by the worlds standards in picking up a bug to play with but I a pretty okay with that. I may be an "adult" but I'm not going to let that ruin a perfectly good imagination or great curiosity, as long as it leads me back to the Christward way of life.
Oh, and...I named him Karl.

In da Club

It has been brought to my attention today that I share my birthday with quite a few famous people that have had a significant affect on our society. To name a few there is: Chuck Barry, Charles Swindoll, Lee Harvey Oswald, Mike Ditka, Huell Howser, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Wynton Marsalis, and sadly Zac Efron. If you are not familiar with any of these men I suggest you look them up by clicking on their names.
I have now found that I am a part of a special club of those men who were blessed enough to see light for the first time on October 18. Thats just proof that I am meant to be a guitar playin', evangelist preachin', sports watchin', world travelin', butt kickin', soul singin', cheesy dancin' kinda guy. I left out a reference to Lee Harvey cause we are all kind of embarrassed he is in the club. We might be there someday with Zac as well.

Birthday...Party?

With the up coming birthday on the schedule, my turning 21 has come up in conversation a few times over the last week. I have found that with most people (not from my church) getting drunk is the assumed activity I will be participating in this saturday. This is stupid. No one even asks me what my plans are. What if I had an extreme allergic reaction to alcohol that could kill me faster then a rattlesnake bite. Did anyone think about that? No.
As I'm writing this though, I am realizing that I actually don't have any other plans if someone did actually ask me how I will be celebrating. So...Any suggestions?

Im Bringing Blogging Back (Yeah)

I have decided that I miss blogging. This will be my first attempt at restoring this technologically based habit. Some have been looking forward to Harrison Ford returning in the new Indian Jones movie. Well I've got news...Mr. Ford reads my blog. So, with that, be ready my readers...be ready.
